The omnipotent, historic and rejuvenated US house label Strictly Rhythm has always had a reputation for delivering quality mixes and the freshest upfront tracks. Now in its 20th year the label has earmarked the producers, DJs and international events that can continue to deliver its universal sound into the next decade.
The biggest event in the House calendar is the annual Miami Winter Music conference that occurs every March. This undoubtedly remains the epicentre of the House scene, continuing to be the place where the world gets a glimpse of the new emerging artists and tracks that will become the staple food of every reputable DJ internationally.

This year it is the turn of house legend Karizma and new blood Eddie Thoneick to select the tracks and skilfully join the beats that will ultimately reflect the sound of the conference.

Karizma is the adept Baltimore bred US house DJ that has set the standard for many over the past decade. He remains one of the most in demand DJs on the house circuit and was formerly part of the renowned Basement Boys with DJ Spen and Teddy Douglas. Now an uber successful producer in his own right and a leader in the US house scene, he was an ideal choice to put together Strictly's Miami mix. This fluid mix features many of his own productions including; 'Kaytro' inspired by his own alter ego Kaytronik, as well as his track with Monique Bingham 'Good Morning' and Groove A 'K' Ordingly (Kaytronik Groove Da Dub). Here his signature style is evident, super creative, making full use of the technology available to him, skilfully cutting from track to track. His mix moves from vocal to tough, demonstrating his versatility.

CD2 introduces us Eddie Thoneick who delivers a very different second mix. Again like Karizma he is dextrous in his production and mixing technique. Eddie takes us on a tougher, peak time trip. Here he features many of his own productions too including Eddie Thoneick featuring Terri B! - Release (Bingo Players Remix), his own original production, Funk! (Original Mix). Listen out too for his own track featuring Shermanology - In My Head (R3hab & Addy Van Der Zwan Remix). Eddies piste de resistance is his mash up of Saeed Younan - Yeah Ha (Original Mix) layered with Copyright featuring Tasita D'Mour We Can Rise (Chantapella).

Other standout tracks include Rasmus Faber & Alf Tumble featuring Candi Staton - Wilder Side (Original Mix), DJ Gregory & Sidney Samson featuring Dama s - Dama s Salon (Main Mix) and Mark de Clive-Lowe featuring Jody Watley Tonight's The Night (Ralvero Remix), an exclusive to this compilation.

Claude CHALLE met talented DJ Khalid while he was hanging out at Comptoir Darna runned by his friend Marcel Chiche. They are both in search of all sorts of music waves. They also both live, breathe and get their inspiration from Marrakech air, a city full of warmth and sensual emotions.
Khalid started his career in Casablanca, his native town. Since 2000, he welcomes a very musically aware and international public at the Comptoir de Marrakech, from dusk until dawn.

Indonesia's Dira J Sugandi made big headlines when she performed with Jason Mraz and Incognito at the Java Jazz Festival 2009. From a fan into a future star describes her journey so far by her producer Bluey after a band member gave her a microphone to sing at that concert. Now Dira is now involved in many Incognito concerts as one of the vocalists. She has also performed live with other acts, including the Yellow Jackets, Keith Martin, and the aforementioned with Jason Mraz (see them live together on YouTube).

Her debut album "Something About The Girl" is written and produced by Bluey with members of Incognito and one special guest, British soul star Omar. The album, with 11 songs, is a stylish and refreshing blend of R&B mixed with acid jazz, soulful house and bossa flavors, part of which was also recorded in Jakarta. Bluey brought Incognito collaborators Matt Cooper, Richard Bull, Simon Cotsworth and Ski Oakenful into the project, along with Dira's favourite male vocalist, Omar from the UK, to do a duet with her.

After raising the bar to unprecedented heights in 2009 with Joris Voorn and Will Saul's stunning additions to the series, EQ Recordings' Balance series returns for the new decade with yet another standard-setting mix from one of the most sophisticated and inspiring names in techno: Agoria.

The man otherwise known as Sebastien Devaud wasn’t bitten by the dance music bug until he was out of his teens, but once he began hunting imported 12"s from the US and Germany in his native France, there was no turning back. His production career began in 1999, with his debut album Blossom and first compilation following in 2003 - and it was clear even in those early days that a serious new talent was emerging. Blending the throb and groove of deeper, stripped-back techno with a keen sense of musicality, emotion and atmosphere, his is a sound that transcends beyond mere dancefloor disposability.

Agoria explains his intention for this intricate compilation: "The concept of both CDs is all about balance. Literally. In my mind a balance is not a middle position; it's a perfect equilibrium. I'm trying to be as close as possible to this idea. I have tried to find this fine line where the balance is just right." To accomplish this perfectly-weighted contrast, he's cherry-picked from a myriad of genres and subgenres in his "beat open-minded" fashion, combining a wealth of material from newcomers across the spectrum (including no less than 12 exclusives) with more established producers, classics and unknown gems from his broad musical past, and put it all together in an unconventional, challenging manner. "In the end, more than a DJ compilation, this is a manifesto of my passion for music and for mixing" he explains.

Disc 1 casts Agoria not simply as a functional dancefloor engineer, but as a musical craftsman, an arranger, a conductor. It's the sound DJing evolved - the art of composition, contrast and texture, toying with your emotion and patience and pushing and pulling your attention in different directions. We begin all beatless and atmospheric, moving through the Viennese downtempo beauty of Tosca and the haunting acoustic pop of Emiliana Torrini and onwards into Agoria's own blend of operatics and deep electronica on Altre Voci. Glimpse's Train In Austria Pt.2 catches us off guard with its intense emotion, before the helmsman ushers us unexpectedly towards organic instrumentation and disco grooves, all warm and familiar after the heady electronics that went before. A delicate, blessed-out climax lays the mix down to rest.

Disc 2 sees Agoria go for the 4/4 jugular, with more of the trademark sound that he is recognised for. But it's not quite as simple as that. Even more so than on the first mix, he combines and sequences tracks in every different way, splicing several together, reintroducing the same track twice or four times, comparing and contrasting different flavours. "I thought that to find the right balance, I needed to use all the ways of mixing. Editing tracks but also letting entire tracks play. Playing 3 or 4 times the same tracks, or spinning some for just a few seconds. Loopy or not. Exclusive, classic or covers, bizarre or easy listening, happy or trippy. 4 tracks together or just one. Loosing the listener for a minute to re-catch him the minute after. Spinning a classical music work of Jonny Greenwood at the peak time. Going up and then down. Starting and finishing with the same tracks.” Familiar names like Marc Antona, Chris Carrier and Mark Broom supply a steady throb of techno and tech house rhythms - melody percolating the mix at the right moments - leading up to a dreamy, euphoric climax, laden with the joyous pianos of Serge Santiago's re-rub of Shit Robot and Martyn's heavenly reworking of Efdemin. Two sumptuous vocal tracks round off this incredible oeuvre, the perfect finale to bring the mix back down to earth after some epic peaks.

This superb compilation is as deep and rewarding as a well-woven novel, the dénouement of the story unfolding as the mix evolves through Agoria's musical DNA. Yet another essential addition to the compilation series that is fast becoming the new benchmark for ambitious DJs and demanding listeners alike.

Curtis James Jackson III (born July 6, 1977) better known by his stage name 50 Cent, is an American rapper. He rose to fame with the release of his albums Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2003),The Massacre (2005) and Before I Self Destruct (2009). All albums achieved multi-platinum success, selling more than twenty-one million copies combined.
Born in South Jamaica, Queens, Jackson began drug dealing at the age of twelve during the 1980s crack epidemic. After leaving drug dealing to pursue a rap career, he was shot at and struck by nine bullets during an incident in 2000. After releasing his album Guess Who's Back? in 2002, Jackson was discovered by rapper Eminem and signed to Interscope Records. With the help of Eminem and Dr. Dre, who produced his first major commercial successes, Jackson became one of the world's highest selling rappers. In 2003, he founded the record label G-Unit Records, which signed several successful rappers such as Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo.
Jackson has engaged in feuds with other rappers including Ja Rule, Nas, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Cam'ron, Sean Combs, Rick Ross, and former G-Unit members The Game and Young Buck. He has also pursued an acting career, appearing in the semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin' in 2005, the Iraq War film Home of the Brave in 2006, and Righteous Kill in 2008.

SHEARWATER / THE GOLDEN ARCHIPELAGO

Shearwater continue to explore the beauty, menace, and fragility of the natural world - and that increasingly rare species, the indivisible album - on The Golden Archipelago, the band's most absorbing and accomplished work to date.

The new record is the third panel of a triptych that includes 2006's enigmatic Palo Santo and 2008's acclaimed Rook, albums linked by themes of environmental and personal decay and humans' impact on nature. In The Golden Archipelago, Shearwater turn to a portrait of life on islands - a world of alternating lushness and austerity, numinous silences and sudden cataclysms, and the strange flowerings of plant, animal, and human life that only arise in isolation.

These are intimate subjects for songwriter Jonathan Meiburg. As a researcher, he's camped on islands at the edges of the world, including the Falklands, Tierra del Fuego, the Galapagos, Madagascar, Nunavut, and New Zealand's Chatham Islands, and once spent a few surreal months in a remote Aboriginal settlement in northern Australia. Adding his grandfather's WWII experiences as a radio operator in the South Pacific to these travels gave Meiburg plenty of fodder for the songs of The Golden Archipelago, in which he weaves these times and places together with common feelings of wonder, grief, and defiance.

The Golden Archipelago opens with the first strains of the anthem of Bikini Atoll, sung by Bikinians in exile on the islet of Kili, where they've lived since atomic tests left their home uninhabitable. It's a fitting introduction to the gentle, eerie "Meridian", with its depiction of an air raid on an island garrison. From there, Shearwater take us on an island-hopping journey of spectacular contrasts, from the distant heights of "Landscape at Speed" to the snowy expanses of "Hidden Lakes", from the manic, shuddering confines of "Corridors" to the isolated vistas of "Castaways".

It's an album of lofty goals and great risk, but Shearwater have never been afraid to dream in widescreen. Like Kate Bush's Hounds of Love, Husker Du's Zen Arcade, or Pink Floyd's polarizing opus The Final Cut, The Golden Archipelago's beautifully and strangely-wrought musical textures summon a majesty, drama, and individuality that few current records attain, or even attempt. The band worked for months with producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Black Mountain, Polyphonic Spree, Explosions in the Sky) to capture the thrilling dynamics that have always marked their live performances, burnished by subtle orchestrations and cascades of mallet percussion. The results are singular, revelatory, and demand to be appreciated as a whole.

This album marks the fourteenth release in Cr2's ever-popular LIVE & DIRECT compilation series, and a special treat for fans of pure, unadulterated House Music. A clash of two world class DJ acts, who have been taking some time off from their affronted alias', make a hugely anticipated return from opposite sides of the Atlantic to present us with this specially selected aural treat.

MYNC are back from their short time off and ready to launch a brand new compilation. They've had huge success throughout the summer of 2009 mixing the official Space Ibiza album, which was one of the biggest to come out of the white isle this year. Their recent productions have also been second to none, particularly in their collaboration with Harry and Jose on their single 'Boogers', which is fast becoming one of the most compiled tracks this of 2009. Another recent and substantial achievement was their appearance on Ministry of Sounds 'The Annual', which included no less then three MYNC productions. Although still using the traditional 4 decks 2 mixers format the production outfit has progressed somewhat in their short break from the scene, and fans can expect to see an electrifying live show in the very near future, shortly followed by what's set to be an extraordinary artist album planned for release later in 2010.

Harry Choo Choo Romero & Jose Nunez acclaimed partnership as the Constipated Monkeys which formed back in 1997, have produced several percussive, funky tracks including 'Cro-Magnon' and 'Erectus'. They have since released a huge number of singles for labels including Subliminal, Pepper and Jive.
Whether continuing production with Morillo under the Pianoheadz guise, teaming up with Harry 'Choo Choo' Romero to form the Constipated Monkey's, or working with them both as The Dronez, Nunez himself has been at the helm of some powerfully funky, slammin' club hits over the past couple of years.

This compilation is certainly a welcome return to what both artists do best- playing pure unadulterated house music. Disc two doesn't fall short either with Harry and Jose including an exclusive from Maltese rising star Jewel Kid with 'Gabur' and Vision Factory's ‘Music Brings You Back’. "In My Blood" is Sharam Jey's long-awaited forthcoming second artist album.

And he's really taken things to the next level. Not happy to settle on mediocre, he's worked hard and pushed things to unexpected heights, working with a host of amazing collaborators that really vary the sounds of the record and take you by surprise. The first taste of the new album came courtesy of the Princess Superstar featured "Monday Morning", but things got a little hotter and rougher when he teamed up with his first of three breath-stealing collaborations with Australia's Nik Valentino (of Lost Valentinos) for the album's title track, "In My Blood". Other froth-inducing collaborations on the record include Tommie Sunshine, Andreas Hogby (of Swede rockers Torpedo) and the fantastic vocal stylings of Swedish chanteuse Cornelia, who has the sickly sweet vocals of an angel set for mischief. However it's his ongoing collaborations with Nik Valentino that really steal our hearts back to the dancefloor, as they set temperatures soaring and pulses racing. "In My Blood" shows Sharam in his very best form yet, even the levels you'd come to expect from him until now have been thrown off the Richter as he gets set to take us by the hand and lead us through 2010 with that ultimate ease only he's capable of.

As 2010 begins, the club's rude health will be bolstered with a new compilation series, 'Ministry Of Sound Club', an episodic, musical capsule prescribed six times annually, showcasing the worldwide DJ talent that makes MOS a weekend highlight for so many. Appropriately for the 100th title in fabric's compilation series, this trio have concocted possibly its most revolutionary and forward-thinking collection of tracks. Since drum & bass' glory days of the mid 90s, a time when the world looked to the UK’s most vibrant and creative indigenous music scene for inspiration, drum & bass has been looking for an artist to break the confines of the sound’s stylistic template, and Autonomic have delivered. FABRICLIVE 50 sums up their last couple of years of work, and represents the work of a collection of producers – many of whom have delivered tailor-made tracks for the CD, from ASC to Skream to Actrss to Scuba to Genotype - who are creating music for dBridge & Instra:mental that redefines what the world know as drum & bass, for now, they just call the Autonomic sound.

dBridge started his career as a member of the all-conquering drum & bass production outfit Bad Company. The highlights of their discography remain some of drum & bass' biggest anthems. Since their disbandment he has gone on to be the group's most credible and musically adventurous solo survivors.

He went on to release on some of D&B’s biggest and best respected labels including Liquid V, Metalheadz, Creative Source, Bingo, Soul:r and Quarantine. He also launched his own label Exit Records, which as well as his own music has released sides by Spacek, Rufige Kru, Survival, Commix, Calibre, Fierce, A.I. and Concord Dawn amongst others.

After a flurry of releases around the turn of the decade, Instra:mental begun making a big impact on the scene around 2007 with their early releases on Darkestral Recordings, which had instant effects for them. Their career trajectory since has been off the scale, just two years later they are the drum & bass' scene's most in demand artists from the outside.

Since those Darkestral tracks, Instra:mental have gone on to release on Horizons, Soul:r, Naked Lunch, Appleblim’s Applepips imprint and Exit Records at a variety of tempos. They've also launched their own label, NonPlus, which though still in its nascent stages, has had releases from Instra:mental, ASC, Skream and has lined up releases from a startling array of talent from across the electronic music spectrum.
After hooking up last year, the trio made great strides as a studio collective and as a creative organisation. Their Autonomic collaboration has yielded a wildly successful club night at fabric, a record breaking podcast, and most importantly has smashed the boundaries of drum & bass conformist stylistic templates and breathed fresh creative impetus into the D&B scene.

The effect this trio's music has had on the D&B scene has not gone unnoticed, and as well as garnering plaudits from their immediate peers, they’ve attracted the attention of a host of electronic luminaries with the likes of Jimmy Edgar, Kyle Hall, Zomby, Skream, Ramadanman, Scuba, Distance and Actress all dedicated fans of their work.

The world's favourite social soundtrack returns with a slick collection of ice-cool dance tracks.
Now that the frenzy surrounding festive celebration has seeped away into distant memory, there's a danger that your energy levels might suffer the same kind of quick remission. Those who have recovered sufficiently from their recent excesses to ponder such things might see nothing but a bleak landscape of failed resolutions and cold winter night stretched endlessly out before them. Happily, Bargrooves has provided exactly the kind of effortlessly cool soundtrack capable of forgetting your woes and easing you smoothly into the new decade.

Over Ice II continues in the same vein as its predecessor - which was the best-selling digital Bargrooves compilation to date - by focussing very much on the cooler end of the house music spectrum, epitomised by the first tracks on the each of its two discs. CD1 sees the heavily luaded Reboot's 'Enjoy Music' setting the tone, while CD2 boasts Dennis Ferrer's 'Hey Hey' - arguably the biggest house track on the scene at the moment after an unprecedented six weeks occupying the Beatport No.1 spot.

Born in Shiga, Japan, Dragon76 is an illustrator and painter whose works are deeply inspired by indigenous cultures and a music. He regularly travels around the world painting live at events, music gigs, gallery openings and was once invited by Peace Boat (NGO) to do live painting for a period of 3 weeks onto walls of refugee camps in Aqabe, Jordan. The artwork for Over Ice is the first of a series of illustrations he has completed for the Bargrooves series and sits perfectly with the musical direction of the label.
With a new look and a familiar yet progressive sound, 2010 may just be the year Bargrooves hits the big time.

1996成立的英倫電音名廠Global Underground，跨足House、Trance、Breakbeat等範疇，成功將Paul Oakenfold、John Digweed、Nick Warren、Darren Emerson、James Lavelle等名將推上天王寶座，而該廠邀請知名DJ至紐約、香港、布宜諾艾利斯等全球各地錄製的混音專輯系列，堪稱其鎮廠之寶。這回請到Techno教父Carl Cox坐鎮，將場景移至美國內華達州黑岩沙漠（Black Rock Desert），以其地域炙熱荒蕪的氣息為靈感，搜羅巴西新世代舞池旗手Gui Boratto、德籍雙人組Tiefschwarz、瑞典Techno悍將Adam Beyer、瑪丹娜欽點混音大師Robbie Rivera等老將新秀舞池勁作，乘著32首遊走Tech-House、Hardcore、Electronica疆界的重拍節奏，馳騁蘊含野性魅力的無限想像！
